Eli Enns

Eli Enns is the new program lead with CGEN’s Reconciliation Through Engineering Initiative at the University of Toronto. A member of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, Eli is co-founder and President of the IISAAK Olam Foundation (IOF) and CEO of the Clean Technology Community Gateway (CTCG). With complimentary mandates, IOF and CTCG are leading the advancement of a new model of regional development called Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas that lead to positive biodiversity outcomes; make tangible progress on our Sustainable Development Goals; and, foster alternative pathways to economic certainty. Building on his existing partnerships across Canada, Eli is working with the University to further advance their efforts in making meaningful progress in reconciliation through practical solutions for complex housing and infrastructure challenges facing Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Employing an "Ethical Space" methodology that brings together the best of indigenous knowledge systems along with the best of western science, Eli co-chaired the Indigenous Circle of Experts for the Pathway to Canada Target 1 producing the ground breaking report "We Rise Together". A Nuu'chah'nulth Canadian political scientist, Eli is passionate about constitutional law, international dispute resolution and indigenous economic theory and practice.
