2022 CGEN Fellowship

Whether you are curious what a career in global development might look like, want to explore different pathways to benefit the world's most vulnerable as an engineering professional, or just want to spend the summer working on a project with an organization that is passionate about social impact, the Global Engineering Fellowship is the opportunity you've been looking for.

This Fellowship is a workforce development program which encourages young engineers to think about complex challenges facing underserved communities in the developing world. It is designed for early career engineers interested in exploring career pathways in global development, and is exclusive to UofT engineering students.

Fellows will work under the guidance of Engineering For Change, a leading platform for the Engineering for Global Development community, to conduct collaborative research which tackles a pressing issue in global development in areas ranging from agriculture, energy, water, housing and sanitation to ICT and data for development. Work will involve engaging with international development organizations, generating articles and research reports, participating in online training, and researching novel technologies for the E4C Solutions Library. You can learn more about what you can expect from the fellowship through our 2021 Fellow, Sahar Shamsi.
