Dr. Heather Greenwood is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Reconciliation Through Engineering Initiative at CGEN. She looks forward to listening to and learning from Indigenous communities in Canada to help engineers become better allies. To these efforts, Heather brings a background in health equity and the social determinants of health. This includes a PhD in Population Health from the University of Ottawa during which she engaged with immigrant and refugee women around reproductive health issues, and work in the federal government on topics such as the measurement of discrimination and health equity impact assessment. Her past training and work are grounded in feminist theories of intersectionality, theories of place, and qualitative research methods.
